The Franklin County Solid Waste Management District has been awarded a Massachusetts Community Innovation Challenge Grant and a grant from MassDEP to implement a recycling program for agricultural plastics. 

YES! RECYCLE THESE PLASTICS:

  • Greenhouse Film
  • Silage Cover
  • Drip Tape (4' lengths)
  • Maple Tubing (4' lengths; no taps or connectors)

NO! WE CAN'T ACCEPT THESE PLASTICS: 

Garden Pots, Netting, Plastic Mulch, Row Cover, Twine
  

Ag Plastics Recycling Locations: 

You must sign in with the attendant before leaving material at these sites! 

Greenfield Transfer Station on Cumberland Road:  Tuesday and Wednesday 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.;
Thursday and Friday 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; Saturday 7:30 a.m. - noon (until 2:30 p.m. after March 15th)

Charlemont/Shelburne Transfer Stations on North River Road: Tuesday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.;
Wednesday 3-7 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Deerfield Transfer Station on Lee Road: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Wendell Transfer Station on New Salem Road: Tuesday noon - 6 p.m.; Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
