Paper Shredding and Recycling Event

Saturday, September 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

at the Staples parking lot in Greenfield

The Springfield Materials Recycling Facility Advisory Board (MAB) is sponsoring a free shredding event on September 20, 2008 in Greenfield at the Staples parking lot.This shredding event is free and open to residents and small businesses from the municipalities of western Massachusetts. 

BRING THE FOLLOWING PAPERS FOR SHREDDING:

CANCELLED OR BLANK CHECKS

LEGAL PAPERS

CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS AND OFFERS

INCOME TAX DOCUMENTS

BANK and FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

MEDICAL RECORDS

DOCUMENTS WITH SOCIAL SECURITY OR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed.

LIMIT: ONE RECYCLING BIN OF THE ABOVE PAPERS.  Please save your newspapers, cardboard, magazines, and other non-confidential papers for your regular weekly recycling collection.

All papers will be securely shredded on-site by PROSHRED, INC.  Attendees can watch their papers being shredded on a monitor.  After being shredded, the paper will be recycled at the Springfield Materials Recycling Facility (MRF).

Have a shredder at home or in the office? Shredded paper IS recyclable in western Massachusetts recycling programs: place shredded paper in a paper bag and lightly tape or staple the top shut.  Securing the bag will help reduce litter. Please, do not use plastic bags!
